Production batches

Turn ingredients into semi-finished or finished stock. This is the bake — not the recipe card.

In aPOS Daily OPS → Production batches

A recipe describes one item. A production batch records what you actually made.

Saving a recipe does not add stock. Posting a batch does.

What this is

Production batches consume ingredients (or semi-finished stock) and create the qty you actually produced.

That is different from the Recipe tab:

  • Recipe: “one Babka Bun uses 51 g flour.”
  • Production batch: “today we made 30 buns” or “expected 10, actual 9.”

When you would use it

Bakery flow: ingredients → dough (Semi Finished) → croissants or buns as Finished Product in stock (Batch-Stocked). Sales then deduct finished stock, not the raw recipe again.

Drinks made to order stay Recipe-on-Sale. You usually do not post a production batch for each latte.

How to do it

  1. Open Daily OPS → Production batches.
  2. Choose the output product (must have recipe components).
  3. Enter expected and actual output if the screen asks.
  4. Preview consume/produce, then post.
  5. You can reverse a posted batch if you posted in error.

Good to know

Do not try to “make 10 buns” by typing the whole kitchen card on the recipe. Keep the recipe per item; put the 10 (or 9, or 30) on this batch screen. See Recipe batch yield.
