How stock works in aPOS

Tracked vs untracked items, purchases, sales, and restaurant recipes.

In aPOS Stock List

What this is

Stock is the on-hand quantity aPOS keeps for items with Track physical stock? on (restaurants) or normal stock fields (retail).

What increases stock

Purchases (Island Shop, Quick Purchase, Stock Run receive, Smart Intake confirm), opening inventory post, production output, manual add, and sale returns of tracked items.

What decreases stock

Sales of tracked Retail Products, recipes on Finished Products when sold, Daily Prep / waste, production inputs, purchase returns, and manual remove.

Tracked vs not tracked

Packaged goods you count (Coke can, water bottle) should be tracked. A latte you never count as a finished unit should stay untracked; its milk can still be an Ingredient with a recipe.

Good to know

aPOS uses a weighted average cost when new stock arrives at a different price. See Weighted average cost.
