What this is
“Add water” means three different jobs in aPOS. Pick the one you actually do.
Bottled water you buy and sell
- Go to Products → Add Product.
- Name it (for example “Water 500ml”).
- Choose a Product Category.
- For restaurants, keep type Retail Product and turn Track physical stock? on.
- Set We keep stock in to pcs, enter cost and MRP, then save.
It appears on Sale New. Receiving a case from Male’ is a purchase or stock run, not a second product.
Water used in recipes
- Go to Ingredients → Add Ingredient (restaurants only).
- Name it “Water”.
- Keep stock in ml or L.
- Enter purchase cost. There is no MRP — ingredients are not sold on the till.
Add it to a Finished Product recipe (espresso, rice, dough). Type the amount for one finished item. If your kitchen card is for a larger batch, divide first — Recipe batch yield.
A drink you make (latte, lemon water)
Create a Finished Product. Optionally add a recipe with milk, coffee, and recipe water for one cup. You do not need to track the latte’s own quantity, and you should not invent a purchase price for the latte.
If it is not on the till
- Ingredients never appear on Sale New.
- The item may be inactive.
- Staff may lack product visibility.
